TAC Air Names Dallas Love Field FBO General Manager

Occupancy, construction and facility plans take shape to reflect the iconic presence of the Braniff Centre on Love Field's East side.

DALLAS, Jan. 30, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Completing one year of redevelopment efforts, and on schedule for its summer 2019 opening, TAC Air at the Braniff Centre located at 7701 Lemmon Avenue on the East side of Dallas Love Field airport is shaping up to be the anticipated premier FBO of Dallas.

Demand for hangar space has been very strong in preparation for opening summer 2019. TAC Air has secured leases for the original 120,000 square feet of hangar space that was part of the Braniff Airlines Operations and Maintenance Base.

"Phase two development of new hangar space is currently in the development and design stage in order to accommodate further interest from parties wishing to base at the newly renovated facility," said Greg Arnold, CEO and Chairman of TAC – The Arnold Companies, parent company of TAC Air.

"We are excited about completing original hangar tenant commitments six-months in advance of opening. Getting started on the expansion hangars will allow for additional interest in the facility, including transient and tenant opportunities at TAC Air – DAL and the Braniff Centre," continued Arnold.

As a part of the strategic plans leading to this summer's opening, TAC Air has named the new General Manager for the TAC Air - DAL Fixed Base Operation (FBO) at the Braniff Centre. Industry and TAC Air veteran, Kip Simanek, with over 38 years of aviation experience, will lead the team of Associates and oversee operations, sales, hangar management and client services.

Simanek is relocating to Dallas this spring from Little Rock, Arkansas where he has managed the operations of TAC Air – LIT for the past four-and-a-half years. Prior to Little Rock, Simanek led the operations as General Manager at TAC Air – LEX in Lexington, Kentucky and TAC Air – OMA in Omaha, Nebraska serving 20 years as a TAC Air General Manager.

His experience in aviation began in the Air Force when he served as an Avionics Technician and in the general aviation sector with Sky Harbor FBO in Omaha, Nebraska moving up to Avionics Department Manager before being named GM of TAC Air – OMA in August 1998.

"Kip's operations leadership at TAC Air – LIT has grown a distinguished facility and ground services. He will bring his experience of leading facility construction and ground operations with him to Dallas to establish TAC Air - DAL the premier FBO at Love Field," said Christian Sasfai, Vice President and COO of TAC Air.

Included in the current phase of construction, retail tenants are in discussion for the renovated space of the Braniff Centre upon completion of the project. The retail space, managed by Lincoln Property Company, will wrap up lease negotiations this spring. Several businesses are planned to join the site and will be in place later in 2019.

The Braniff Centre, originally known as the Braniff Airlines Operations and Maintenance Base, will be transformed into more than 250,000 square feet of high quality hangar space and prime aviation support facilities. Accompanied by 100,000 square feet of retail, restaurant, offices, an auto-dealer showroom, entertainment venues, hospitality facilities and archives of its original tenants, Braniff International Airways. The Braniff Centre, located on Dallas Love Field's east-side, along Lemmon Avenue will be a destination for surrounding neighborhoods as well as Dallas' sophisticated travelers.

The TAC Air - DAL FBO (fixed base operation) at the Braniff Centre will feature amenities such as, controlled access to private hangars and executive terminal, concierge services comprising catering from local celebrity chefs, auto detailing, local event/venue reservations, auto-to-aircraft valet, and secured personal access to all retail facilities located at the Braniff Centre.
